Introduction:
Techexchange is an online ecommerce website which can be accessed at www.techexchange.co.za (the “Website”) and is owned and operated by Techexchange (PTY) Ltd (“TechExchange”,”we”,”us”).
The Terms and Conditions (“t&c’s”) goven the ordering, sale, delivery and return of Goods when using the Website.
By Registering on the Website the user (“you”,”your”,”consumer” or “user”) acknowledge that you have read and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
Notice: If there is any provision in these Terms and Conditions that you do not understand, it is your responsibility to ask TechExchange to explain it to you before you accept the Terms and Conditions or continue using the Website.

Use of Site
You may only use this site to browse the content, make legitimate purchases and shall not use this site for any other purposes, including without limitation, to make any speculative, false or fraudulent purchase. This site and the content provided in this site may not be copied, reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, transmitted or distributed. ‘Deep-linking’, ’embedding’ or using analogous technology is strictly prohibited. Unauthorized use of this site and/or the materials contained on this site may violate applicable copyright, trademark or other intellectual property laws or other laws.
Purchasing Products:
Products available to the customer are displayed on TechExchange’s website. The customer may select any products displayed on Techexchange’s website.
Once a product is selected by the customer, the customer shall offer to purchase the selected product by using TechExchange’s selected payment methods and gateways at the price displayed on TechExchange’s website.
Techexchange may in its sole and absolute discretion accept or reject the customer’s offer which acceptance or rejection shall be communicated to the customer via e-mail. The customer shall pay TechExchange the purchase price using the various options available for payment as provided on Techexchange’s website
Payment Options and Pricing:
All transactions will be processed in South African Rands (ZAR).
TechExchange is committed to providing secure online payment facilities. All transactions are encrypted using appropriate encryption technology through the TechExchange website and third party payment providers
Techexchange Pty Ltd reserves the right to change pricing at any time without prior notice.
If prices are incorrectly displayed on the website, Techexchange will not be bound by the incorrect prices. In such instances TechExchange can decline the customer’s offer and choose not to sell the Product for the incorrect price.
Payments can be made for products via the following options:
Credit Cards with PayFast
TechExchange accepts MasterCard and Visa credit cards through PayFast, a payments processing service for South Africans and South African websites. Enabling easy, secure and instant transfer of money from online buyers to sellers.
Processing credit cards with SA’s six major banks (Absa, FNB, Nedbank, Standard Bank, Investec, Capitec) with instant secured verification.
When a buyer clicks to pay and selects Payfast for credit card purchase, they are redirected to complete the transaction on PayFast’s secure servers.
If an order is cancelled once completed with Payfast there will be a payment processing fee which will be deducted from the refund.
EFT (Electronic Fund Transfer) with Ozow

Cash Deposits and Direct EFT
If you pay via direct cash deposit, payment must be made within 3 days of placing your order. Techexchange will not process your order if payment has not been received. To ensure we process your order quickly, send a copy of your EFT or deposit slip to sales@techexchange.co.za .If depositing cash you are required to pay the bank fee when depositing cash directly into Techexchange’s bank account.

Product information
Demo Smartphones are no different to a brand new phone but at a fraction of the cost. These were not display phone. We sell Apple, Samsung, Huawei and Sony demo phones that for one reason or another have been out of their packaging at some point in time, box damaged, factory seconds or customer “14 day” returns. They are in like-new condition with minimal / no marks on them with full functionality and performing like new. They come in their original box (unless its condition was unsuitable a plain box will be provided) and contain all their original parts and unless specified all the original unused accessories. Their batteries are basically unused and as good as new.The only difference from a brand new product is the box has been opened and the manufacturer warranty may not be claimed. A Techexchange 6-month warranty are sold with every demo phone. In certain instances, generic packaging and accessories may be provided.
Certified Pre-owned or Refurbished smartphones are equivalent to brand new devices but may have slight marks or scratches. These will be described in the description and labelled as Excellent or Very Good in Condition. These devices are fully tested and quality checked to guaranteed to function and perform as new. Packaging may be provided in a customised box with high quality charging cable. A 6 month Techexchange warranty with every refurbished and certified pre-owned product. These products are often referred to as CPO (Certified Pre-Owned)
New Phones are brand new devices sealed from the manufacturer in the box. They are sourced locally with full South African manufacturer warranty which if necessary or in case of a hardware or software fault can be taken to any of the manufacturers local stores for repair. In certain cases we import new phones to offer lower pricing. They are no different to local new phones but this will be confirmed in the products description and they are sold with a 6-month Techexchange warranty.
New imported iPhones which are older discontinued models are refurbished to New and function and look brand new. They are packaged in their original boxes with original accessories and sold with a 6 month Techexchange warranty. Their parts are a combination of original Apple parts but batteries and display may be replaced with Grade A parts if they required replacing. This will in no way hinder their quality and functionality but if you are not satisfied we offer a 7 day guarantee to replace or refund your New iPhone within the first 7 days of receiving it. Any hardware issues not caused by damage will be covered by our Techexchange warranty. Please note in some cases the serial number may not match the device and packaging but the IMEI number will be the same for insurance purposes.
Techexchange will endeavor to ensure that all information regarding products on its website are accurate. If a product has been incorrectly described on the website, the customer may cancel the sale and return the Product for a full refund within 7 (seven) days of receiving the product. The product must be in its original condition and packaging with accessories unused. Devices cannot be returned due to damaged packaging or customised boxes in place of the original.
Stock Availability
The stock of all Products displayed on Techexchange’s website is limited by the availability from its suppliers. Techexchange will endeavor to remove Products displayed as soon as stock of the Products is no longer available. Techexchange will not be responsible or liable for any damage whatsoever if Techexchange does not have stock of Products advertised, purchased or sold on the website.
Delivery Policy
When you click to make a purchase with us legal obligations arise and your right to refund of monies charged to your credit card or paid in any other way agreed by us, are limited by our terms & conditions.
You must not make any purchase through this site unless you understand and agree all our terms and conditions. Once payment is made for the purchase, it is deemed that you have read and understood the terms and conditions for such purchases. If you have any doubts, please contact us before making any further purchase or use of any and all services on the website.
Shipping
Once the purchase price for the product has been paid by the customer to TechExchange, the product will be delivered to the customer via The CourgierGuy where agreed upon by TechExchange and according to the selection by the customer at checkout.
Products will be delivered to the customers nominated address unless the address is an outlying area then The CourierGuy’s Pudo locker service will be offered. Deliveries take place between Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays) between 08h00 (8:00 am) and 17h00 (5:00 pm) once payment has been received and confirmed. Deliveries to Main city centres will be within 3-5 working days with Free shipping for orders over R1000. Express deliveries are offered within 1-3 working days for R150. Outlying area deliveries can take between 5-7 working days.
There will be a delivery fee for all products under R1000 of R75.00 (seventy five rand).
TechExchange only offers deliveries within the Republic of South Africa and shall make no deliveries outside the Republic of South Africa whatsoever unless pre arranged with a director of TechExchange.
Confirmed order will take no less than 72 hours from receipt of payment. Regional and Outlying areas may be affected by delays in delivery due to third party courier services
Not what you ordered
If we accidentally deliver the wrong product to you, or if the product is not as described on the Website, please notify us within seven days of delivery and we will collect the product from you at no charge. If the product is missing any accessories or parts you are required to notify us within 7 days of delivery and follow the process set out under refund and returns. Once we have inspected the product and validated your return, we will at your choice deliver the correct product (if the correct product is available); refund you or credit your account with the purchase price of the product within 10 days of the return.
Undeliverable packages
Occasionally packages are returned to us undeliverable. Should this event take place, every attempt will be made to contact you to make arrangements for re-shipment.
Order processing
Your order will not be processed or shipped until we receive a confirmed order and full payment or confirmation of payment by either of the TechExchange payment providers.
Ownership Risk and Responsibility for Products
The customer will be responsible for the Product from the time that the Customer signs a delivery or collection note for the Product at which time the Product will be deemed to have been delivered to the Customer.
From the time that the Product is delivered to the Customer, the risk in and to the Product passes to the Customer and the Customer will be responsible for the product. For example: if the Product is damaged by the Customer or is lost or stolen after the customer signs the delivery note, the customer will be responsible for the lost, stolen or damaged Product. Ownership of the product will pass to the customer on the date of delivery whereby payment has been made in full.
Defective or Damaged Products
If a product is damaged or missing any parts or accessories at the time of delivery, please notify us within 7 days of receiving the product by email to sales@techexchange.co.za or logging a return on the Website or sending us a Whatsapp on 0724392243. We will arrange to collect the product from you or replace the missing accessory at no charge. Once we have inspected the product and validated your return, we will repair or replace as soon as possible (if such repair is possible or we have the same product in stock to send a replacement). Refunds will need to be approved by management.
Techexchange will not be responsible for any damage arising from negligence, or user damage after delivery has taken place. This includes physical damage and liquid damage or incorrect usage of the product. The warranty with Techexchange will be voided and any repairs will be for the customers expense including courier collection and return fee’s.
The following will NOT be regarded as defects and will not entitle you to a refund or replacement:
· faults resulting from normal wear and tear;
· damage arising from negligence, user abuse or incorrect usage of the product;
· damage arising from electrical surges or water corrosion;
· damage arising from a failure to adequately care for the product;
· damage arising from unauthorized alterations or repairs to the product;
· damage to screens caused by extended usage ie missing or damaged pixels and or screen burn;
· where the specifications of a product, although accurately described on the Website and generally fit for its intended purpose, do not suit you;
· Demo products, may contain worn or damaged boxes and a device which may contain minor signs of use.
No liquid-damaged for Demo and Certified Pre-owned or Refurbished devices will be covered by our warranty regardless of the manufacturer’s advertisements regarding water resistance. The liquid resistance is tested under strict conditions and due to the nature of our business being pre-owned, there is no way of testing the seals. Consequently, we are unable to guarantee the effectiveness of these seals, making it necessary to exclude liquid-damaged devices from our warranty coverage.
Special Conditions in respect of Cellular Products
All sim cards supplied by Techexchange to the customer are bound by the terms of service of the Network the card belongs to and in no way is TechExchange endorsing or responsible for the Network providers service capabilities. Sim Card purchases require customer to be Rica’d and a verification of ID and physical address will be requested from the customer in order to activate a sim card. Lost Data or out of bundle purchases will be for the responsibility of the customer.
Cellular products shall vary according to the package purchased. The customer shall be required to register the sim card in the customer’s name in terms of RICA (Act 70 of 2002) and Techexchange shall process the customer’s RICA registration on behalf of the customer.
Our Rights
We reserve the right to:
Modify or withdraw, temporarily or permanently, the Website (or any part of) with or without notice to you and you confirm that we shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification to or withdrawal of the Website; and/or
Change these Conditions from time to time, and your continued use of the Website (or any part of) following such change shall be deemed to be your acceptance of such change. It is your responsibility to check regularly to determine whether the Conditions have been changed. If you do not agree to any change to the Terms and Conditions, then you must immediately stop using the Website.
We will use our reasonable endeavor’s to maintain the Website. The Website is subject to change from time to time. You will not be eligible for any compensation because you cannot use any part of the Website or because of a failure, suspension or withdrawal of all or part of the Website due to circumstances beyond our control. Product price errors can happen and Techexchange reserves the right to cancel an order if the price of a product was marked incorrectly and a full refund will be given.
Any transaction entered into prior to any particular modification or amendment of the terms and conditions will be dealt with in accordance with the terms and conditions as they were at the time that the transaction is concluded. The customer consents to TechExchange’s rights set out above.
Electronic communications
When the customer visits TechExchange’s website and when the customer sends Techexchange e-mails, the customer agrees that he or she is communicating with Techexchange electronically. The customer consents to receiving communications from TechExchange electronically. Such communication shall be either via e-mail or by posting notices on TechExchange’s website.
Disclaimer of Warranty
The contents of this site are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, either expressed or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a purpose and non-infringement. The owner of this site, the authors of these contents and in general anybody connected to this site in any way, assume no responsibility for errors or omissions in these contents.
TechExchange further do not warrant, guarantee or make any representation regarding the safety, reliability, accuracy, correctness or completeness of these contents. Product availability
Lead time is dependent on stock availability. Should we have stock available, orders will be dispatched the same day provided payment is validated/received before 1200 hours.
Should the product not be in stock please allow 10 working days plus freight transit time. This will allow for delivery to our warehouse.
Every effort is made to effect shipment of your order timeously however unforeseen circumstances may cause delays. Should we be faced with such an occurrence TechExchange will contact you via email and provide a revised shipping schedule.
Refund/Returns Policy
Should you for any reason wish to cancel your purchase you will be liable for a 10% handling fee. You are required to advise us in writing of your cancellation within 7 days of receiving your order and any such cancellation must be signed by the person who made the original purchase. The goods must be returned to us undamaged in the original packaging within 10 calendar days.
Techexchange (PTY) Ltd recommends that you use The Courier Guy and Pudo locker services for all returns as it offers shipment tracking through a 24-hour customer service. Should you choose to use a carrier that does not offer a tracking facility and the goods are lost then no refund or return will be considered.
Techexchange (PTY) Ltd relies on its suppliers guarantee of devices to be purchased reputably and should any Blacklisting occur Techexchange and its owners will rely on our suppliers to resolve the issue. No refunds will be granted on Blacklisted devices if a replacement is not suitable.
If a product is returned for replacement, the original warranty will remain and not be extended from the new replacement date.
